Betamax was an analog videocassette magnetic tape recording format developed by Sony. It was first released in 1975, but quickly lost out to the more popular VHS format. By 1988 Sony conceded defeat and ceased making the tapes. This exhibit features web access clips of Betamax tapes from Liza Loop's personal collection. Pratt's LIS-665 class digitized these tapes for long-term preservation and public access using a secondhand Betamax player and Adobe's Premiere software. The featured clips come from several different sources including Don't Bother Me I'm Learning!ComputerTown USAComputer Education in Action, and Computer Chronicles.
